NatureScapes Certified Workshop: Chincoteague Weekend Event, Chincoteague, Virginia, May 10-12, 2013 with Greg Downing: Chincoteague has much to offer the nature and wildlife photographer. World famous for it’s wild ponies, Chincoteague has abundant wildlife photography opportunities. In the spring, you can expect to see and photograph a variety of herons, egrets, and other wading bird species, double-crested cormorants, several species of ducks and gulls, numerous shorebirds, and mammals such as sika elk, cottontail rabbit, and of course, the feral ponies that Chincoteague is known for. Chincoteague’s varied ecosystems also provide a variety of opportunities for photographing landscapes from the sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean to salt water marshes and loblolly pine forests. Additionally, the Chincoteague Lighthouse and various boats and oceanside shops in town provide good photographic opportunities for those whose interests extend beyond nature.

Their final multi-media presentation was shown on the final evening of the summit and met with a standing ovation! I'm so proud of and inspired by these students.

NANPA Regional Event: Acadia National Park, in Bar Harbor, Maine, October 4-7, 2012 with Jerry Monkman, Tom Blagden, and Paul Rezendez: I had an absolute blast co-leading this tour for NANPA. We led small groups of photographers all over Mount Desert Island, hitting many of Acadia's hotspots, and met up for afternoon critique and Q&A sessions. I made many wonderful friends and couldn't have had a better time!
