The American Alpine Club is a non-profit organization for alpinists and rock climbers that recognizes achievement in the sport and also promotes safety in alpine adventures. The northeast chapter of the AAC has annually hosted social events, climbing meet ups, and a fancy fundraising gala. In 2014, I was asked to photograph the event held at the Henderson House in Weston, Massachusetts.
The location was absolutely stunning but indoor photography was quite challenging due to the mixed lighting conditions from various light sources, all with different color temperatures to keep things interesting. With some photos, I was able to balance the colors in Lightroom, but in some cases it was just easier and more effective to convert to black and white.
Equipment used: Canon 5D Mark II, 15mm f/2.8 fisheye, 17-40mm f/4, 50mm f/1.4. Post processing done in Lightroom and Photoshop.
