Sea Birds at Barnegat, Various Dates December 2009 through February 2010: Barnegat is well known as a hotspot for birders and bird photographers alike. In winter, a variety of duck and sea bird species gather in and around the bay to spend the colder months. Harlequin Duck, Longtailed Duck, Common Loon, Surf Scoter, Brant, Double-crested Cormorant, Herring Gull, Purple Sandpiper, Dunlin, and Ruddy Turnstone are regular visitors, with sightings of Black Scoter, Common Eider, Common Merganser, Horned Lark, Snow Bunting, and even Harbor Seal not uncommon. This year, I will be offering private and semi-private photography workshops throughout the winter months when the birds are most common. Because of the nature of the jetty where most of our shooting will be done, I am limiting particiants to a maximum of three per outing in order to maintain the safest and most productive learning environment for students. Long lenses (400mm full frame equilavent minimum) and a sturdy tripod are recommended to make the most of this experience. Warm clothes are a must. The cost for a one day workshop is $150 for one student, or $125 per student up to three students maximum. For more information or to schedule a date, please email me.
