I was out studying Scaup this morning and I believe your Mystery Scaup is a Greater. The back of the head is more rounded without a noticable peak that typically is visible in the Lesser. Also, the sheen of the plumage is greenish (right behind the eye) rather than purplish, also indicating Greater. Nice work. Drew Kari,
